Razor-Qt 0.4.1 Released With New Components, Panel Improvements

Razor Qt, a new lightweight desktop environment that uses Qt, has reached version 0.4.1.

The new version brings 3 new components: razor-policykit, razor-power (power management tool) and razor-autosuspend (a tool to suspend/wake-up laptops on Lid events or power status events) as well as some panel improvements:

• the panel can be moved
• configurable panel width and height
• the clock now uses a new simple calendar

Other changes:

• XDG autostart and Razor-qt autostart feature improved
• Session: limit auto-repeat attempts when application crashes frequently
• many minor updates and improvements

To install Razor Qt in Ubuntu, use the commands below:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:razor-qt/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install razorqt

Then log out and then select Razor Desktop (with the desired WM) from the login screen.

For some reason, the Razor Qt configuration tool is not installed when installing Razor Qt, but you can install it manually using the following command:

sudo apt-get install razorqt-config
